Whitni works in the corporate finance team at Triodos Bank, helping charities, social enterprises and other ethical businesses raise investment capital to grow their organisations and increase their positive impact. She manages the Triodos crowdfunding platform and is responsible for raising capital from a wide range of investors including high net worth individuals, social investment funds, charitable trusts and foundations, institutional investors, as well as individuals. Whitni joined Triodos Bank in 2006 and first worked in the venture capital team making equity investments in ethical businesses and helping to grow the bank’s presence in the social investment market.
Previously Whitni headed the Access to Finance team at the New Economics Foundation where she led the think tank’s research and consultancy work on improving access to finance for financially excluded individuals as well as social businesses. Whitni worked in Mexico for a year helping to run a microcredit programme. She has authored a number of papers on financial exclusion, access to finance for social businesses and finance for fair trade. Whitni started her career at JP Morgan where she worked for six years in New York and London structuring debt for leveraged buy-outs.
Whitni is on the social investment board of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and was a trustee of the Friends Provident Charitable Foundation – a grantmaking trust – for 9 years. She is also a primary school governor.
